Sexed Semen Success Ahead of C&M Tumilty's Incalf Heifer Sale

Charlie and Martin Tumilty’s annual in calf heifer sale takes place on Thursday evening, 26th October, 7pm at Markethill Livestock Mart with a total of 55 handpicked heifers catalogued for the sale.

Tumilty’s have invested significant time sourcing these superb heifers and have once again matched these heifers to some of Dovea’s most impressive Limousin proven, easy calving sires. Having kept close ties with previous purchasers, this match has proved a success time and time again with their previous incalf heifers performing extremely well within suckler enterprises.

Charlie & Martin Tumilty have gone one step further this year using a significant amount of sexed semen on their heifers, resulting in 40 of their 55 lots scanned carrying heifer calves!

This year’s consignment of heifers sells incalf to Dovea Genetics sires Elderberry Galahad (EBY), Ewdenvale Ivor (LM2014) & and Brooklands Marco (LM5443).

Two of this year’s stars of the sale include two exceptional heifers by the old Dovea Genetics Belgian Blue superstar Du Grand Bon Dieu (BB2247).

Lot 16 in the sale is a full hybrid Du Grand Bon Dieu (BB2247) sired heifer out of a pedigree Limousin dam. She sells incalf to our proven easy calving, roan producer Elderberry Galahad (EBY) due a heifer calf on the 29th of December.

Lot 26 in the sale another Du Grand Bon Dieu (BB2247) sired heifer stood Champion Blue Heifer Calf at the Royal Ulster Beef & Lamb Championships in 2021. She sells incalf to Elderberry Galahad (EBY) carrying a heifer calf and due on the 27th of November.
