Dovea Genetics are set to host an exciting webinar alongside animal health distributors, Interchem titled "Getting Cows In Calf Breeding" on Wednesday 22nd March 2023 from 7:30pm

Topics will include fertility optimisation, managing problem cows, synchronisation research & protocols along with dairy & dairy beef sire recommendations for 2023.

Speakers include Dr. Federico Randi DVM & PhD - International Technical Manager, Ruminants Corporate Marketing, CEVA Santé Animale & Dr. Lauren Popiolek DVM, BSA - Interchem's Veterinary Technical Advisor.

Federico Randi will cover the principles of fertility management, reproductive physiology and the use of hormonal interventions to assist with breeding strategies. He will cover the oestrus cycle, the use of specific protocols for FTAI and synchronisation in heifer and cows, the latest research on synchronisation and its use with sexed semen and the summary of trial work conducted in Ireland and across the globe.

Lauren Popiolek will review the adoption of sexed semen, highlight the research conducted to date, explain how the technology has been adapted and advanced in recent times and present the studies that have been carried out in Irish conditions. She will highlight the risk factors involved and give advice on the correct handling and procedures that need to be adopted when using sexed semen.

Niall Duffy, Dovea’s Dairy Programme Manager & John Lynch, Dovea’s Beef Programme Manager will also be on hand to discuss their sire recommendations for 2023.

All speakers will be available to answer questions on the evening and provide valuable information on what is set to be an interesting discussion.
