Guest speakers on the night will include Adam Woods, Beef Editor with the Irish Farmers Journal who also runs a beef and sheep farm in Co. Cavan. Adam is going to talk us through the market demands in recent times and the weanling export trade.

Our second guest on the night is James Alexander from the Jalex Herd, Co. Antrim. The Jalex Herd comprises of, at times, 1,000 head of commercial breeding heifers for distribution across Ireland & the UK. There is a variety of heifers on farm so matching easy calving sires to these heifers is of huge importance, while aiming to produce a good calf for the customer. James previously ran a suckler herd prior to the current enterprise and is a well experienced breeder of high value cattle.
