Celebrating the Sires Behind Tullamore Show’s Top Winners
As the dust settles following another incredible Tullamore Show, let’s take a look beyond the ribbons to acknowledge the sires that shaped this year’s top winners.
Commercial Calves
The Commercial Calf classes saw dozens of Dovea Genetics progeny come out to take top spot in their respective classes with sires such as Avicii De Mahoney (BB9725), Boherard Overdose (BB8337), James Bond VD Jorchrishoeve (BB4396) & Claddagh McCabe (LM6529) represented strongly.

The Best Belgian Blue x Calf Male title was awarded to Pearse McNamee with his incredible Boherard Overdose (BB8337) sired bull calf.

The Best Charolais X Calf Female class saw Kevin Barrett’s Crossmolina Euro (CSQ) sired heifer calf place second in the class.
The Commercial Blonde Sired Calf Extravaganza saw Declan Collins’ Glacon (BA4661) sired heifer calf place second in the class followed by Adrian Bourke’s Gazou (BA2300) heifer calf in third.

First prize in the FBD National Livestock Show Young Stockperson of the Year 2025 (12 to 16 Years) was Tadhg Hannon with his Solway View Dynamite (S1109) sired heifer calf.
First prize in the FBD National Livestock Show Young Stockperson of the Year 2025 (8 to 11 Years) was Louis Fitzsimons with his James Bond VD Jorchrishoeve (BB4396) sired heifer calf.
Commercial Senior Cattle
Winning the Best Bullock with 2 or more Permanent Teeth was John Kane with his Imperial de l’Ecluse (S905) sired bullock.

Standing in the reserve spot in the Commercial Replacement Breeding Heifer was the McKinney Brothers with their Claddagh McCabe (LM6529) sired heifer.
Finally, the Reserve Overall Commercial Senior Champion was awarded to the Mckinney Brothers with their Claddagh McCabe (LM6529) sired heifer

Placing second in the Best Bullock with no Permanent Teeth was the Stevenson family with their James Bond VD Jorchrishoeve (BB4396) sired bullock.

Winning the Best Heifer with 2 or more Permanent Teeth was the Moorhead family with their Elderberry Galahad (EBY) sired heifer

Taking the reserve spot in the Best Commercial Suckler Cow with Calf at foot was Michael Creed with his Wilodge Joskins (LM2188) cow and calf

Limousin
The Dovea Genetics sired females shone on the pedigree Limousin stage with numerous prize winners throughout the day.
The National Pedigree Registered Limousin Cow calved or incalf or incalf senior heifer born before the 01.01.2023 championship was awarded to Donal Moloney with Newtown Trinity, an Ernevalley Madison (LM4745) daughter.
Newtown Trinity later went on to be tapped out as the Reserve Overall Senior Female Champion.

The Connell Brothers, Meath took home first prize in the Dovea Genetics sponsored National Pedigree Registered Limousin Heifer Born on/between 01.07.2023 and 31.12.2023 class with Carrickmore Uphoria

The most highly anticipated class of the day was the National Livestock Show Pedigree Registered Limousin Heifer Calf born in 2025 which saw the O’Grady & Davis families battle it out for first prize with their Claddagh McCabe (LM6529) sired heifer calves.
After much deliberations, judge Mark Quick tapped out James O’Grady’s heifer calf, Meenross Annabelle as the winner with Gerard Davis’ calf, Castlebrock Aintree ET taking the blue rosette.
Meenross Annabelle sired by Claddagh McCabe (LM6529) later went on to receive the Reserve Overall Junior Female Champion.

Gerard Davis’ Castlebrock Aintree ET by Claddagh McCabe (LM6529) received her own red rosette later in the day in the National Livestock Show Pair of Pedigree Registered Limousin, where she teamed up with her comrade Ally Pally to take home first prize.

Hereford
The National Pedigree Registered Hereford Bull Calf Born on/after 01.12.2024 saw stiff competition with Alan Gibbons’ Carrowboy 1 Delboy PP sired by Ringfort 1 Carlos (HE8935) taking home second place.
He later went on to take third prize in the National Pedigree Registered Hereford Bull of the Year.

Simmental
Starting the day off strong in the Simmental ring, Luke Neenan confidently took his Curaheen Gunshot (SI4147) sired heifer Limehill Spice to first place in the Simmental Young Members Class.
Garrett Behan took home first prize in the Dovea Genetics sponsored National Senior Pedigree Registered Simmental Bull Born on/before 31.07.2023 with Coltfield Murry.

Charolais
Winning the Dovea Genetics sponsored Best Pair of Pedigree Registered Charolais Animals (12 months of age and under on Show Day) was Patrick & Oisin Cassidy.

Belgian Blue
It was a clean sweep across the board again in the Belgian Blue ring for Dovea Genetics progeny.
First up was the Young Handlers under 12 years on show day with first prize going to Leah Heslin with her Engin d’Hontoir (BB5355) sired calf.
In the Belgian Blue Female Born on/before 31.08.2023 with/without her own calf at foot, first prize went to Dave Pearson’s Rabeaux Beaudoin, dam of Boherard Rambo (ET) (BB1413)

The Irish Belgian Blue Breeding Heifer Born on/between 01.09.2023 and 31.08.2024 class was won by Pauline & Tommy Fitzgerald with their Boherard Overdose (BB8337) daughter - Heatherview Roxie.
Heatherview Roxie later went on to win the FBD National Livestock Show Belgian Blue Female Champion and eventually was awarded the FBD National Livestock Show Overall Belgian Blue Champion.

The Belgian Blue Female Born on/between 01.09.2024 and 31.12.2024 class was awarded to Billy Dunne with his Tattoo VD Sysloberg (BB6703) daughter Errill Super Spark.
Errill Super Spark was then tapped out as the Reserve Overall Belgian Blue Female Champion and later achieved the Reserve Overall Belgian Blue Champion.

The Belgian Blue Junior Bull Born on/between 01.09.2023 and 31.08.2024 class was won by Denis Cahalane with Forenaught Rocky, sired by James Bond VD Jorchrishoeve (BB4396).

Taking first prize in the Belgian Blue Bull Born on/between 01.09.2024 and 31.12.2024 was Don Spencer for Daniel O’Donovan sired by Imperial De l’Ecluse (S905).
Don Spencer was later tapped out as the Overall Belgian Blue Male Champion.

Winning the Belgian Blue Bull Born on/after 01.01.2025 class was Neil Blennerhassett with his Immense d’Yvoir (S1216) son, Culleeneybeg Thomas.
Culleeneybeg Thomas went on to take the Reserve Overall Belgian Blue Male Champion title

Aubrac
Taking home second prize in the Pedigree Aubrac Heifer Calf Born on/after 01.08.2024 was Seamus Shortall with Kayreerk Urcize, a daughter of Deerpark Rowe (AU8953).
She also joined her comrade Kayreeck Ursa to take home second place in the Best Pair of Animals class.
Angus
Taking the second prize spot in the Angus Cow or Heifer Born on/between 01.09.2022 and 31.08.2023 was Shane McGreal with his Bunlahy John G (BJG) daughter Cahernacole Wilma.
Shane also took home second prize in the Angus Heifer Calf born in 2025 class with his Bunlahy John G (BJG) sired heifer calf.
Saler
In the Pedigree Salers Senior Heifer Born on/after 01.08.22 and before 01.08.2023 class, John Burke was awarded second prize with his Montesqieu (SA6253) daughter, Manusmore Brenda.
The Pedigree Salers Junior Heifer Born on/after 01.08.2023 and before 01.08.2024 class saw Catherine Minogue place second with her Montesqieu (SA6253) daughter, Coolagoree Cosette.

Blonde
The Pedigree Blonde d'Aquitaine Male or Female Born on/between 01.08.2024 and 31.12.24 class saw Sean Galvin’s Terelton Teresa sired by Glacon (BA4661) take second place.

Parthenaise
Winning the Pedigree Parthenaise Bull/Heifer Calf Born on/after 01.01.2025 class was Anna Coyne with her Bolide (BZB) sired heifer calf.
Taking first prize in the Pedigree Parthenaise Bull born on/between 01.08.23 and 31.07.24 class was Ronan Carroll with Moyvoughley Ultra sired by Obama (PT8481).
Moyvoughley Ultra was later awarded Reserve Overall Parthenaise Champion.

Beef Shorthorn
First up was the FBD National Livestock Show Beef Shorthorn Young Handler of the Year 2025 with Aaron Mc Dermott placing second with his Clonina Explorer (SH4609) sired calf

Dairy Shorthorn
James Lambe’s Ballytrain herd celebrated success again this year with their incredible Ballytrain Marina 11th—half-sister to Ballytrain Braveheart (MSX221).
She first won the Registered Pedigree Dairy Shorthorn Cow in Milk before being crowned the Overall Dairy Shorthorn Champion for the second year in a row.
