Balmoral Show Winners

As the dust settles on what was another amazing Balmoral show with massive crowds and exceptional livestock on display, we were delighted to see so many Dovea Genetics sired animals achieving great success throughout the week.

In the Charolais section, 3-year-old Loughriscouse Rosalva, exhibited by H & H Heron and sired by the ever-popular Harestone Hercules (S2163) started the day by winning the cow / heifer in calf or in milk class alongside her 3-month-old heifer calf. Rosalva then went on to win the Overall Female Champion, part of the Charolais Group-of-Three Champion team, and Reserve Supreme Champion.

In reserve for the Intermediate Female Championship was 2-year-old Loughriscouse Savanna from H & H Heron. Like Rosalva, Savanna was also sired by Harestone Hercules (S2163) and joined Rosalva in forming part of the Charolais Group-of-Three Champion team.

12-month-old Loughriscouse Tamara is another Harestone Hercules (S2163) sired heifer from H & H Heron, and was the event’s Reserve Junior Female Champion.

In the Limousins, Cranmoney Tess – a Claddagh McCabe (LM6529) daughter belonging to Mark McCartan was crowned Junior Female Champion and Overall Reserve Junior Champion.

The Supreme Overall Blonde Champion was won by McElroy I & R & Sons with their Baltra Iceman (BA4131) sired stock bull Nigransha Paddy Power. Before claiming the overall title, he also won the senior bull class and male champion.

Finally, in the British Blue section, Don Oreo sired by Imperial De L’Ecluse (S905) belonging to Mr Tim & Daniel O’Donovan won the senior heifer class, the best exhibitor bred female, Overall Champion Female and finally the Overall Supreme Champion.
