Elderberry Galahad Son Sells For €4250 at Weanling Show & Sale

Elderberry Galahad Weanling Makes €4250 in Roscommon

With weanling show and sales well and truly underway we have seen Dovea Genetics sired weanlings excelling throughout the country. With a solid trade experienced so far there has been a huge demand for quality lots with some extraordinary prices being paid for the right lots.

None more so than when Declan Davis' Elderberry Galahad weanling bull went under the hammer on Tuesday evening. Having previously received a lot of attention online prior to the sale there was a great air of excitement surrounding the January born EBY son. His roan markings, correctness, shape and style is what made him stand out in the yard. With a final price of €4250 for the 415Kg (€10.24/Kg) it is the highest price seen at this years weanling sales and a tough one to surpass.

Declan Davis, a young breeder from Galway, was delighted with the sale. He has been using Elderberry Galahad quite frequently and has observed some great results. "EBY calves are ideal, small at birth and start thriving almost straight away. I would highly recommend him". With a sale like that from a first calved Belgian Blue heifer it is easy to see why.
